Refurbished Mirror

I decided to see if I could use my old mirror from my bedroom set. I thought it would make a great art piece, I was right they look really good. I did a paint and glaze to get them to look like this, but what a transformation. I only used the two sides, but I am sure I can come up with something to do with the center mirror. Maybe I will use it in a different room. I was hoping for a sucess story and I got it. I would do this again.

Headboard Complete

Before

After
Okay we have made progress the headboard and bed are complete. Earlier I showed a picture of what materials I used to make the headboard now I am showing you the final product. I think this project turned out better than I expected. This was something new, that I haven't tried before. So here is the process. I took plywood and stapled batting over the 4x8 sheet, then I came back over the batting with the material. In this case it was blanket, I stapled the blanket over the batting and rounded the edges to give it a finised look. Then I purchased some z clips so that I was able to mount the headboard on the wall which provides more space in the room.

Master Bedroom Project Continues.

So this weekend I was able to get the crown molding up and the handles put on the dresser and armoire. The Master Bedroom is coming along nicely. It is a lot more time consuming when you have a young one that needs attention all the time. I will finish this one day, I just keep telling myself this.  I have the accessories, and artwork still left to do, a little painting and possibly refinishing a mirror. Tune in for pictures to come soon.

The Nightstand

Since I was tired of my old dressers that were a golden oak color I decided to paint and glaze the night stands. Here is the end result on the night stands. Turned out pretty good for a first attempt.

What to do

So have you ever stared at a room and wondered what in the world can I do to spice it up a bit. Well, I looked at my master bedroom and decided that I didn't like the furniture in my room any longer, but it is only 5 years old. What ever will I do? So I decided I was going to redo my master bedroom and do it for under $1000. My first purchase was a blanket I used to make my Headboard, then I found some bedding I fell in love with. Then it took off from there, so I am redoing my master bedroom. Can't wait for the finished product. Stay tuned for photos and more posts to come.
